LOW IQ: 43.1 Million American Students Were College Drop Outs!

#USA #America #india 43.1 Million Americans were college drop outs in 2023 and 33.4% were white students. According to reports released by the [National Student Clearinghouse Research Center](https://nscresearchcenter.org/some-college-no-credential/), the United States recorded approximately 43.1 million individuals who fall into the "Some College, No Credential" (SCNC) category as of July 2023. These are adults who enrolled in postsecondary education but stopped out before finishing a degree or certificate. [1, 2] Among this massive cohort, the demographic breakdown confirms that white students make up 33.4% of the total, remaining the largest individual racial group within the dropout population. [2, 3] ## Quick Demographic Breakdown of the SCNC Population (2023) | Race / Ethnicity | Percentage Share of SCNC Population | White | 33.4% | Hispanic | 18.5% | Black | 14.1% | Asian | 2.7% | Native American | 1.0% | (Note: The remaining percentages account for multi-racial students, other categories, or missing data tracking). While these cumulative numbers continue to rise across all 50 states, recent data highlights a silver lining: a record number of over 1 million SCNC adults re-enrolled in higher education for the 2023–24 academic year, with white and Asian students completing their degrees at the highest rates once they return. Many universities are actively scrapping entire departments (like humanities, modern languages, or specific sciences) because they can no longer afford to run them without foreign tuition propping them up. While filling empty seats is part of it, the main driver is price discrimination. In countries like the UK, the US, Canada, and Australia, local (domestic) student tuition fees are heavily regulated or capped by the government. Due to inflation, the money a university makes from a domestic student often does not even cover the actual cost of teaching them. * If domestic enrollment drops—or if a massive wave of students drops out mid-degree—running that course becomes a net financial loss for the university. * To avoid canceling the course entirely (which hurts their reputation and remaining students), universities aggressively market to international students to fill those exact gaps and distribute the fixed costs across more people. * Lowering Standards for Locals: To fill the massive financial holes left by missing foreign students, elite universities have begun lowering their grade entry requirements for domestic students just to pull in more volume and capture their tuition money. https://nscresearchcenter.org/some-college-no-credential/ https://www.austinscholars.org/about-asap/our-impact/the-numbers https://www.luminafoundation.org/news-and-views/millions-pressed-pause-on-college-we-can-help-them-hit-play-again/ https://www.tamus.edu/data-science/2025/10/01/the-magnitude-of-some-college-no-credential-adults-in-america/ https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8re8vy4g14o https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c62zvdz6mn4o
