Sikh restaurant owner Harman Singh Kapoor was arrested in London after being harassed and threatened for refusing to serve halal meat at his restaurant.
Me, personally...I SUPPORT the rejection of halal meat.
The political or Sikh angle, I don't really care..I'm here to present the facts.
There are two angles to this debate, which many avoid or ignore.
Let's dive into this...Full analysis.
Sikh Websites on Rehat Maryada on Meat

Akal Takht:
An Amritdhari Khalsa Sikh is not allowed to eat the meat of an animal slaughtered the Muslim way.
in Punjabi the word "Kuttha" specifically means meat prepared according to the Muslim ritual slaughter.
" without suffering or religious ritual."

Gurmukh Singh OBE,
Principal Civil Servant retd (UK) wrote:
Meat prepared in the Muslim way to meet Islamic religious requirement is called halal or kuttha, which Sikhs are forbidden to eat. The exact quotation from the Sikh Reht Maryada in Panjabi is as follows:

In Sikhism, specifically within the Khalsa Code of Conduct (Rehat Maryada) established by Guru Gobind Singh 1666 – 1708, consuming meat from an animal slaughtered the Muslim way (Halal or Kutha meat) is strictly forbidden (as seen above).
NOW, here's the contradiction, Gurū Nānak (1469 – 1539) creator of Sikhism, said:
Flesh is flesh:

The fools argue about flesh and meat, but they know nothing about meditation and spiritual wisdom.
What is called meat, and what is called green vegetables? What leads to sin?
We can clearly see, whether one is a vegetarian or not, consuming halal meat is not the issue.
These are silly arguments in Sikhism.
In other words, Gobind Singh contradicts Nanak's and his teachings.
Both are Sikh Gurus.
Both must be obeyed.
Epic fail!
As for Harman Singh Kapoor, he has every right to reject halal foods as per his religion, although, he is not following all the rules from his holy book either.

On the one hand, Harman is enforcing his right as a Sikh, on another hand breaking Sikh rules by having idols (beautiful Ganesh ji idol/murthi btw!)
Indian Sikhs in general, flow from Hinduism to Sikhism.
Khalistani Sikhs reject Hinduism fully.
Overall, his shop ...His rules....Management has the right to refuse!
